Updates
Hello.
I've been out looking for a job for last couple of days,
so I didn't have much time to post here.
Seems like miracles don't happen, so I might
have to give up all me filmmaking dreams for a year or so,
Get a job, save up some money for the gear.
However, even if this blog doesn't bring me money,
I will still keep on posting, it seems to be fun!
I'll keep you updated with tips on filmmaking.

Lesson # 1: Basic Camera Operation
Lesson # 1 - DO NOT MOVE THAT CAMERA!
Yes, they did it in Blair witch Project and it was pretty lame if you ask me.
The film was popular because it was very unique - don't do it again.
Try to keep the camera as steady as you can - no matter what you're filming.
Ex.: Keep the camera in your right hand, hold the right elbow in your left hand, this will
make any camera much steadier then holding it with one or even 2 hands.
DO NOT TURN with the camcorder. This will give your family a headache while watching te final product. If you really need to turn the camera to film from one corner of the room to another, do it slowly.

Hello! I’m 22 years old, I live in Montreal, Canada and I'm a filmmaker... well, at least I consider myself one!
So you made it to my blog and now are curious what is it all about? I’ll explain!Since my childhood, I've been amazed my motion pictures... Let it be a TV Show, Musical, Film even a TV Ad - I was always amazed by it.
When I turned 17, my mom bought me a cheap used Sony Handy cam. It is a so-so camcorder for home videos, but doesn't matter how much I tried, I could never get even a half-decent quality out of it... And believe me, I wanted to. However, I starting filming all I could film, making little video clips, trying to replicate all the angles and shots used by "the TV people". Trying to catch those Almodovar-Tarantino-Rodrigues-like shots.I am still walking around with that camera.
As time was passing by, I was thinking of serious projects. At this exact moment, I have a great script for a dramatic short film, and an interesting documentary project. Only I cannot film it with my old camera. It just would not work out. The handy cam is working worst and worst by day; it lacks basic features like focus, white balance, microphone... etc.
Now let's get closer to my problem. I work 40h/week for a salary of 8.50$/hour.It pays my apartment with all the fees related, my groceries and my clothes. THAT is ALL !...but every day, after work I pass by this big electronics store and can't stop looking and drooling over this semi-pro video camera, the canon xl h1... It has been my biggest dream since it came out on the market. There is one BIG issue though.... the cost; 9000$... I will never have that kind of money.
So I registered a website, http://www.givemeyourpenny.com/ this website only has Ads on it and every time someone clicks on an ad - I get a penny!
Now to the point;
